Our Story
Eleven years ago, Rhonda Halterman, a Bettendorf businesswoman, was introduced to the complex world of eldercare when she sought assistance to care for an elderly loved one. As she navigated through the myriad of unexpected challenges, questions, and potential options, Rhonda was amazed at the complexity of the elder care world. She recognized the need for a knowledgeable and trusted advocate to help guide seniors through the maze. In response to that need, she founded LivWell Seniors to help seniors in our community as they made life-impacting decisions regarding their future. As her business grew, it became clear that there was another unmet need in our community: the need for an expert in elder care to advocate for the economically disadvantaged senior population. Seniors who are Medicaid-eligible have fewer options and payor sources than private-pay seniors, and there are additional complexities involved for this population. LivWell CARES, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was formed to address the needs of this underserved population. As Baby Boomers age, it’s becoming clear that The NEED for Advocacy is NOW, and LivWell CARES is here to help.
